The fact that one of these options helped doesn’t prove that the issue being troubleshooted is ‘platform noise’, but it may be an indication.

In gutsy I use the ipw because the iwlwifi is flat out broken. They seem to work pretty decent as long as all I do is browse the web.
It contains early releases, or content that just hasn’t been merged in mainline linux-firmware yet. The time now is I am currently just using ndiswrapper with the windows drivers for the AGN.
If it is not in the man pages or the how-to’s this is the place! Are you able to connect at Mbps Draft-N data rates? Could you please explain your question and maybe it will make more sense to me.
